Rejoice all you 80's kids and lovers of G.I.Joe (a.k.a Action Force in the UK).
Whilst browsing through the coming soon section on Play.com, I noticed that G.I.Joe the movie was coming out on dvd on 08/07/2002!!
I've had the region 1 version for AGES, but the UK one has got a couple of new extra features, namely the Cobras Creatures (1st Episode From The Series), Original Toy Advert and Storyboards From Cut Scenes.
Hopefully the UK version will feature a few more extas, as the US version has some really cool 'moral' sections, which were short clips with various Joe characters teaching children various rights and wrongs, like don't talk to strangers, don't make hoax fire alarm calls, what to do if your'e confronted by a mean looking dog etc.
Brief synopsis from Play.com:
A 40,000-year-old race of snake people resurface, and with help of Serpentor, Desto, Baroness, and Dr. Mindbender, plan to eliminate all of mankind and rebuild Cobrala. Once rulers of Earth, the Snake people were driven underground by ice-age temperatures. While in exile, they developed a plant whose spores turn ordinary men into mindless, weak animals. The key to their plan is G.I. Joe's secret project -- the Broadcast Energy Emitter (B.E.T.). Only this device generates enough heat so that the spores can mature.
