I've seen bullet in the head before, though it was a long time ago, still it was a great action flick. A bit like the deer hunter except with more action, and in my book that isn't a bad thing. I've also heard a bit about the killer, but have yet to watch it. I will be checking out all these films mentioned anyway, because I don't think John Woo has really had as good a career making great action films in hollywood as he did in his homeland.

And did you know hes making a world war 2 film coming out this year? Its called windtalkers. I doubt it won't be as good as his earlier work, but still John Woo directing a war film can't be a bad thing. I'll be checking it out anyway.

there is only one Jet Li film worth seeing: Fist of Legend
everything else is pale in comparison. The opening scene with Jet Li taking out a bunch of japanese yobbos, bending their arms out of shape, and out of their sockets is cool, and what he does to the guy who confronts him in the karate dojo entrance is just utter class!

Reynolds, I was under the impression you were about 12 which must surely make you too young to watch Face Off.

Or am I wrong?

I saw Hard Boiled on Channel 4 a while ago, and because I'd heard so much about it and how excellent it is, I have to say I was slightly disappointed. Still, it was pretty good

Saw a bit of Jet Li's The Defender the other day (think that's what it's called) and it has bullet time in it, and it looked pretty good considering how old the film is

Have you seen any of Woo's other older films?

You'll see Chow Yun Fat (Tequila in Hard Boiled) in most of them.

I recommend seeing:

A Better Tomorrow
A Better Tomorrow II
The Killer
Bullet in the Head

Also, Woo did Kung-Fu movies before he started on action movies. Check out "Last Hurrah for Chivalry" for a good example of what he used to get up to.

Too right, one of the best action films I own, and there are allot. Its way over the top, but the action scenes are just so pulse pounding it doesn't really matter.
It just shows John woo doesn't need a million dollar budget or all-star cast to make a great action film.

My favourite scene in the film is the gigantic gunfight in the hospital at the end; its just amazingly done and something I haven't seen in an American made John Woo film ever.
