Got back from Spain at 7pm last night and had to get in to work for 8.30am this morning. Now I miss those Siestas (not to mention cheap lovely Spanish lager).
Driving around in Spain wasn't as bad as I thought, though roundabouts there are even more of a free-for-all than they are here. Now I have to cope with rain and thunderstorms on my first day back. Knew I shouldn't have worn that short sleeved shirt!
We stayed at my father-in-law's house (technically my wife's house) which is a typical old fashioned terrace house with no heating or air conditioning (except for a portable one and a fan). So too hot in the summer and too cold in winter.
It has old furniture, old electrics which sometimes get overloaded, but at least it has broadband (thanks to my brother-in-law) and 2 PCs, meaning I get exclusive use of one when I need it.
But most of the time it was just visiting relatives; cousins, aunts uncles etc. and having lots of nice food.
The place is a small town just below La Manga Club, a famous golf resort where the England football team have often trained on their plush football pitch (and famously let of fire alarms or been taken to caught for alleged rape). It's a nice area, quite quiet with mostly local people and Ex-pats.
ermmm i mean welcome back, how was Spain? :-D
...and back to work straight away!
