I'm trying to install something that needs a cgi bin for it to run on.

So how do I create a cgi.bin directory?

You could set up an account with an ISP which supports CGI like Freeola, then run your scripts remotely using the Freeola web space.

Why are you using Geocities though, when you could be using a Freeola account??? Even if you don't buy a domain, the addresses you get are much better than geocities ones....

You should have on on Freeola. It's called cgi-sh, but when you navigate to it with your browser it shows up as yourname.yourchosenaddress.com/cgi-bin.

If you're not using Freeola, then your host may provide a cgi-bin. You should notice it if you do. If there isn't, try creating one (the name is irrelevent). It's just a normal directory.

Otherwise... find another host.
