Responding to Ant's call for (and observation) of the lack of E3 posts, I decided to post one here. If anybody wonders about my lack of appearance around the forums over the past few days... *cough cough* (wouldn't want to boast)

Nintendo is the greatest video game company in the world. It makes great consoles, brilliant games and is the oldest and most loved company. An outcry after the first Zelda footage and relatively poor Mario Sunshine footage led to many people believing Nintendo have lost their touch. But with tonnes of the best and most awaited games being previewed, in playable form at E3, it looks like this year is going to be great.

My first impressions of...

...Zelda

Looks good. Looks great even. Zelda belongs to 2D. That is all I can say. It started out as 2D, has grown in 2D and matured into 3D. Perhaps old age demanded simpler graphics, but the new 'Celda' as is popularly tagged, looks absolutely stunning. Zelda does belong to 2D, and the new game proves it. The graphics look absolutely brilliant, with great effects ranging from the bizzare water effects to the awesome smoke seen when link runs. Control issues are non existant since (it is of course Nintendo), the fluid control, Z targeting and item-placing functions return with all flags flying. This game is going to be great, and the only thing to speculate about is the amount of new innovation is going to be in the game. Ocarina Of Time did innovation incredibly, and I just hope that 'Celda' does the same.

...Wario World

Looks GREAT! This will probably end up being a true successor to Super Mario 64. It is what's termed a platformer, and includes all the great functions from the 2D incarnations, but in stonkingly good 3D. Looks very good. Aside from a few small issues, levels design is good, powerups are good, character animation is great and the game is going to be awesome. This will be to the GameCube what Banjo-Kazooie was for the N64 - underrated, but brilliant platforming.

...Mario Sunshine

Everything about this oozes Mario, from the ooze, to the control, to the awesome graphics. I can't say much about this - its everything we've all come to expect.
(Strangely, no SR story on this one)
