This may or may not catch on.

Basically, write a random Haiku, it's easy.

For those who don't know, a haiku is composed of three lines, line one has 5 syllables, line two has seven syllables, and line three has 5 syllables.

eg:

I walk in the dark
the black night gives me comfort
darkness, walk with me

of course, you can vary the theme to describe another board poster, or to describe how your day has been, or anything like that.

Sonnets?

tight structure and syllablic quotas, yet Sonnets often result in the most powerful poetry...

I agree about Haikus though :-)
