Interesting news from the Netherlands as Universal Studios Interactive has inked a deal with local development group Davilex Games to produce an action-racing title based on the immortal 1980s television show; Knight Rider.
Starring super driver Michael Knight and his trusty ultra-car KITT, Knight Rider will sport all sorts of cool gadgets like Turbo Boost, Ski Mode, Night Vision, Microwave jammers, Super Pursuit, or Surveillance Mode, to fry baddies and kick some villain butt. Spread across 10 varying levels, KITT and Michael will battle well-known nemeses like Devon, Bonnie, Garth, KARR, and Goliath.

Rudolf Wolterbeek, Games Producer at Davilex comments, "We're thrilled with the acquisition of the Knight Rider license, it offers a unique context for never-seen-before gameplay. Anyone who's seen the show wants to drive KITT. And that's exactly what this game is all about: the player will be able to drive KITT and use all the cool high-tech features like turbo boost, ski mode, super pursuit mode, night vision, etc. It is quite amazing what this car will be able to do in the game."

Bruno Maglione, USCPG's European Managing Director, echoes this enthusiasm, "It gives us a great deal of pleasure to work together with game-genre leaders, Davilex, on this unique project. Anticipation is building especially amongst the target demographic for this game, which revives the iconic 80's classic, Knight Rider."

Headed for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, PC, and Game Boy Advance this coming fall, Knight Rider will hope to capture the imaginations of 80s dreamers and all around racing fans the world over.

Sounds pretty cool, hopefully it'll be better than the Dukes of Hazzard PSone game.
Come on, we've all dreamt of being David Hasslehoff before haven't we ;)

Cool.
I've got the same birthday as William Daniels (aka Kitt's voice) and I used to love watching Boy Meets World - and still do!
But i'm obviously nowhere near as old as him.

Shame about Sarah Michelle Gellar not doing Buffy's voice in the Buffy game though. At least Knight Rider won't do the same!

I'm sure that if the developers are smart then they'll use the proper voices from the show, and not some sound-a-like actors.

Never really watched the show before but Kitt's a cool car.

And regarding Kitt, do you know if it'll be his voice from the series in the game??
