It’s amazing isn’t it? I mean all this gaming business – its just brilliant. Aside from the immense pressure forced upon us in respect to which decisions to make, what games to buy, which magazines, where to buy from, what facts to believe, gaming is actually brilliant and it surely does have universal appeal. Girls, boys, women, men and even animals play it – or maybe they’re just in it. Super Monkey Ball anyone? I’m sure Super Monkey Ball was on the starter menu at a Chinese restaurant…?

Today before watching a superb Star Wars Episode 2, a mate and myself spotted an uncommonly well dressed Frenchman in HMV playing on RalliSport Challenge on the Xbox, he must have been there for at least 15 minutes with his French compatriot – anyway, it was only a certain Mr Pierre-Yves Gerbeau! No? Still don’t know him? The ex Disneyland Paris guy; the one who tried to save the Millennium Dome or something like that. Anyway, it was quite funny because no one actually recognised him. Must be nice that – being a multi millionaire and not having masses of people run up to you with pens and autograph books!

Anyway, that’s all I have to say other than my opinion that “RRP” stinks. Games consoles may becoming down in price, but there’s no excuse to be selling games at £45 a throw – I mean, there are so many games that could have been better created by a Japanese toilet – I appreciate bargain gaming, like sales and those really cheap PC games, but I must confess. I am worried.

With an escalating trend in piracy, it makes searching for a second hand console with games a joke. I don’t want to buy a PlayStation with 160 poor quality creations that eat away at the gaming industry as we know it – I want originals. Original and best I say – praise goes out to Nintendo for there anti piracy policy, but already you can get copied PS2 games, Dreamcast copies were about years ago, PC games – pah, it’ll only be before too long when the Xbox black market rears its diseased ugly head.

It strikes me that if game prices – say the RRP was lowered then the pirate conspiracy would not be as commonplace as it otherwise would. Who would really pay £45 for Obi-Wan on the Xbox – the most woeful game I’ve played in a while – perhaps government intervention, or maybe the industry could sort itself out, but prices are just too high right now, despite good console prices.

I’m tired and would really like to hear you thought (just one, don’t be greedy) on any of the subjects which may or may not have been raised.

Thanks

Dan

I really like the cover for this DVD (E3 2002 footage)

http://www.lik-sang.com /catalog/product_info.php?category=52&products_id=1887&

(remove gap after .com)

glad i got that out of the way...

Thing about RRP...what is the point of it? Price fixing is illegal so whats with the RRP? Go into a high street and all these shops are selling the product at the RRP. Effectively that is bloody price fixing...

Although us clever mans tend to use the internet to find cheaper products...just a few clicks can save you lotta dollar...When I was looking for my MP3CD player on the net I found that on different sites the same model ranged from £60 to £100! These were all UK sites as well...In the end the cheapest was a company in Scotland...

On the net you can get quiet a few next gen games for £29.99 and Gamecube games can already be found for under £35.

Also, very soon, Action replay will be released for the Cube letting us play import games on PAL CUBE :D so i can get games from "site i'm not allowed to mention" (see, I can be good MR. moderator :D) with free shipping all the way from Canada! I seen Resident Evil for £28! thats bloody superb considering it aint even gonna be released here until september!

I aint been too greedy have i?

anyway, i need sleep/// apparently gotta get into good sleeping routine so I am more fresh for Exams next month...

Goodnight.
