The basic story is about politics lecturer Michael, portrayed fantastically by Jeff Bridges, who after seeing his neighbours son screaming and bloody in the street finally meets the family. The family father is played by Tim Robbins, and at first I didn't think he would be able to perform the part but he turns out to be perfect. As Jeff runs a course on American Terrorism at his University, he starts to notice things about Robbins, and after a series of events, he starts to think that he could be living across the road from terrorists. He also tells his suspicions to his girlfriend (his FBI wife had been killed in action a few years before), and also has to live with his son (played by the kid who played Bruce Willis' son in Unbreakable becoming best friends with Tim and Joan Cusack's (who plays Robinns' wife)son
The acting is great, as I said earlier, and Jeff Bridges is great in his paranoic role. It's also got a cracking ending to top it all off, and throughout the whole film you'll be wondering "Is he a terrorist?" or not.
So see it. And stuff.
Top, top film with a fantastic ending.
