A lot of people say there is no life beyond our planet, but personally, I think that there is likely a highly advanced and civilised collection of sentient life-forms close to the core of our galaxy. Obviously, being lightyears out on the spiral arms of the galaxy, we are out of reach of this civilisation. We are more than likely percieved to be in the uncivilised, and uncharted dredges of the galaxy.

Are we alone? No.
Are we being left alone because no-one wants to talk to us? More than likely.

Nobody would try to blow up a planet with any form of life on it, unless we were convinced it was going to kill us.

I do believe there are aliens out there somewhere - after all, there are countless billions of planets out there. If one can evolve life, why can't more?

Additionally, Our star is relatively young compared to many, suggesting that if life delevoped elsewhere it could have been around for many millions of years longer than us, and developed far greater technologies.

No lights in the sky though. After all, why would a race with such advanced technology put lights on their ships for us to see?

Yes, but it is those few who are in charge of countries and would happily blow up another planet to test weapons.

Fear is an excellent motivator. Knowledge that we are not alone would more than likely scare enough people to get everyone working together.

Can you imagine the problems the existence of another race would cause? We already have wars because some people on *this* world think they are better than other humans. I can't even begin to imagine how they would react to aliens.

Being optimistic, it might unite this planet into a lot of friendly people!

I live perfectly happily with people of other races or cultures, don't be so general. Most people live with it in harmony, it is only the disease minded few who can't handle it.

We can't even live happily with people who have a different skin colour, or religion etc, there's no way we could handle the existence of civilisations from another planet.
