no probs, there just seemed to be a lot of confusion on here as to whether it was an enhanced version or a new game, i just thought we should wait and see what the offical announcement is at e3 that's all.

MGS2 is a good game - technically superb - but I did think the storyline was a bit on the crackpot side. And all that codec chat was tiresome to say the least.

I'll buy it if there's nothing else available around the time of release, but I can't say I'm waiting with baited breath.

At the end of the day it could be said that this "update" is nothing else but a cash-in, especially if it's being released on the PS2 as well.

Sorry - not being rude, but I don't see what you're unsure about.

The rumour was that there was going to be an enhanced MGS2 for Xbox.

This is that product, but is also being released on PS2 and PC.

That was release in 98 - two years after PlayStation's launch, when it was already a household name.

Well I don't care if it's Sons of Liberty with loads of extras or a brand new game, as long as MGS is coming to the X-Box. Due to the fact that MGS:S ic coming out on PS2, PC and X-Box; I think that M$ will have to get some special feature for any competition in the gaming world.

For instance, if they are both the same game, more PS2 versions will be sold (more PS2 owners of course) - so X-Box can't progress any further into a firm position amongst Sony and Nintendo. One of the reasons of the success (and now 'house-hold' name) or the PSone was that it had MGS - and no other console did.

Though I may consider overlooking the PS2 version just so that there's something else worth buying for the ol' dust catcher.

Not at all. I have both machines, so don't really give a stuff.

Just saying that the rumours were just that, and as usual, obviously unfounded!

Well, however you look at it, it's not the rumoured 'enhanced' version.
