Worms was a fantastic game, It's hillarious catchphrases and facial expressions were enough to make anyone crack, but underneath it all was a very enjoyable and playable game. After it's success a sequel appeared, I still have the very first demo of worms for the PC and it's packed with interviews, artwork and all sorts but in the interviews the producer was asked why isn't it in 3D (like the cut scenes) and they said they'd heavily considered putting the game into 3D but in the end stuck with what they know best, fair enough.

Well that was some 4 years ago now and everywhere you turned a 3D version of worms was in development called Worms Blast. I thought to myself bout friggen time it's gona be great, a PS2 version of hogs of war maybe but it's worms so even better. however what came out was a shoddy attempt to rival Bust a Move only with Worms, and in 2D!!!! Team 17 ought to be ashamed of themselves!!!!

Is anyone else as dissapointed as me? :-(

Yeah but the levels in worms are set out in ledges and high terrain, while Hogs of war has mainly flat terrain. If there where a worms 3D, then the developers may turn the landscape more flat, but that will make the tools like the drill obsolete. And There one of the best thing in the worms games.

Like hogs of war, third person whilest moving the pig/worm, aim in same perpective then go to a cinematic camera when fired, simple :-)

Another thing, does anyone think this type of game would be good if both players played together without taking turns?

No you're not alone there. It might be great in 3D, apart from one big flaw which would make the game almost unplayable. The camera. There is already a massive amount of 3D games on the market which have a 3D camera and have yet to master how to properly to use it. I think it would be even worse on a game like worms, I just can't imagine how it could be done.

I too think worms might be better staying 2d, but times are changing...developers want to try new things...and i suppose if they release a 3d one then it might be good, might not, who knows, they may have already made one but scrapped it during development as it was pants.

I agree that they should have kept with the war theme on worms blast, it would be alot better.
