i think that for the wipeout series the music was top notch , having contributions from top dj's and stuff,i think that it really sets the mood for the racing, once the music kicks in before you accelerate, it's not all graphics that can be improved.ssx has shown us just what a next generation console can do for sound, with the music blasting out in full when you are leading and slowing down , and also bieng toned down for when you are trailing in the race.(thus giving you a kinda mental boost to get ahead).

Wipeout fusion is looking stunning and is now set to come out dvd, with very a cool menu system. i think that for some tracks: music such as Bomfunk mc's "uprocking beats" will be just perfect for the setting of the race and it will keep the tension up as well.
it sounds like a wipeout type of soundtrack too.

it's just really exciting what a next gen console such as ps2(or gamecube or x-box)for that matter will be able to do in other areas of the gaming experience (sound). hopefully all the older games will be sparkled up for their own release on ps2.(how about a new spruced up time-crisis game with brand new guncom45's or brand new crash bandicoots) just a whole load of promise in store for next-gen gaming.(plus make sure you buy ssx on launch it's probably the best game on the launch).
