I got this e-mail and found that I actually had the virus, Notron AntiVirus of MacAfee can't detect it.

"I have been advised that an e-mail sent to me recently could have transferred a virus to my computer. On checking, it had, so I am contacting everyone in my address book so that you can eradicate it from your system.

The virus (called jdbgmgr.exe) is not detected by Norton or MacAfee anti virus. The virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It's sent automatically by the messenger and by the address book, whether or not you sent e-mails to your contacts.

Here's how to check your system:

1. Go to START, Click on Find/Search option

2. In Files/Folders option type the name jdbgmgr.exe

3. Be sure to search your c Drive

4. Click "Find now"

5. The Virus has a Teddy Bear Icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe DO NOT OPEN IT

6. RIGHT Click your mouse on the file

7. Select Delete

8. Go to Recycle Bin and Delete it from there as well

If you find the Virus you must contact all the people in your address book so that they can eradicate it from their system."

As far as I know there are still offers for:

Website promotion
eg. Ad banners on other sites

Helping the development of the "New look", which I might try.

Well my thing got deleted and everything seems to be fine. When I find the Windows disk I'll get it back, but nothing's gone wrong yet.

Oh yeh, and Twain, I might have a look at that NintyUK2 ;-)

Just to confirm, this is a HOAX virus - it does not really exist. The 'jdbgmgr.exe' is part of the Java Debugger Manager installed by MS Virtual Machine. For more information about this, go to:

Is there any chance that this entire thread can be removed, to prevent people from deleting this file???

If you have already deleted it, there are instructions on the page above for restoring the file.

DON'T DELETE IT!!!!

IT ISN'T A VIRUS AND WILL DO NOTHING TO YOUR COMPUTER. EVERY COMPUTER HAS IT AND IT IS VITAL FOR THE COMPUTER TO OPERATE PROPERLY.

IF YOU DELETE IT, YOU ARE A MUPPET!

I've had this kind of email before, stupid people believe it and it results with the stupid people buggering up their computer!
