Hello I am going to tell you a story about a thirteen year old Boy who is put into a situation he can’t get out of because of Computer games.

It was an ordinary Saturday I was getting ready to go to town like usual with my mates when I got a phone call on my mobile from an unknown number the person on the phone said
“Your mission should you choose to accept it is to find out why nearly every game on the PS2 with a 3 at the end are all brilliant This phone will self destruct in five seconds”.
I just ignored the call thinking it was just my mates joking around. Then 5 seconds after the call had ended my phone exploded just like I had been warned and I was really worried as I had only got my phone last week and my mum was coming I picked up the remains of the phone and ran out the house.

I didn’t know what to do I knew it wasn’t a mate as none of them are clever enough to attach a bomb to the phone so it had to be something or someone else. I decided to go back to the shop I got my phone from and asked them if they knew anything they just laughed at me and gave me weird looks. I walked around town for about two hours just thinking about what I was going to do and everywhere I looked I saw the number 3. I saw it in shop windows, Then I saw the bus number 33 and I looked at my watch it was 3 o clock. I knew then only way to stop this was to listen to the man on the phone and find out what it is with games and the number 3.

So I went home and threw all the clothes off my desk and got to work with every PS2 magazine I have ever brought I was looking through them from about 4 o clock till about 10 o clock and the only thing I had come up with is that:

GT3’s biggest competition is going to be TOCA 3
Colin McRae 3’s biggest competition is going to be V-Rally 3
GTA3’s biggest competition is going to be Driver 3

This wasn’t much but it was still a start. I curled up into a little ball and went to bed and I knew this wasn’t going to be an easy task. I couldn’t get it out of my head whilst I was sleeping I had a dream where I was a grind pole in Tony Hawks 3 and I was just about to get run over by a 350 Mile Per Hour Dodge Viper from GT3 and the old Granny with the mittens from GTA3 was trying to hit me. I screamed and went downstairs to have a drink of Cocoa to clear my head I couldn’t get back to sleep and before I knew it was morning again and I was ready for the challenge.

I went straight on the Internet looking on sites to find out about the games with a 3 in them to see if there were any connections apart from what I had found out yesterday there was nothing at this point I was getting really annoyed and decided to go on my PS2 to see if that would give me inspiration so I looked at my games to see what to play I had GTA3, Tony Hawks 3, GT3, Dynasty Warriors 3 and Quake 3 which didn’t make me feel any better as they all had three in them. So I went back on the internet but this time I went on The SR Forums to see what they were chatting about I saw a post about Triple A titles and it suddenly hit me there are 3 A’s in Triple A that could be the reason they are so good but how would I know if that is the reason as the person who rang me up withheld there number. I then got an email from [email protected] I didn’t know who it was but I still opened the email because it could have been from the person who called me. The e-mail said
“Keep Trying you are getting closer to the secret” my computer then went crazy and deleted the e-mail meaning I couldn’t reply.

I went off to think about what the e-mail said and turned on the Radio ironically it was the Catatonia song Mulder and Scully. I started singing
“Things are getting strange I’m starting to worry this could be a case for Mulder and Scully”. I stopped singing as I didn’t know the rest of the words and went back to thinking then my mate came and knocked for me and said
“You’ll never guess what I’ve just pre ordered Colin McRae Rally 3 and Driver 3”. I just slammed the door in his face and shouted out
“WHY ME!” I couldn’t take it anymore I threw my Ps2 to the ground and snapped all of my games in half. Once I had calmed down I realised that my Mum was going to kill me and that once this ordeal is over I will probably want to play on my PS2.

I went downstairs and looked out the window I saw some Yardi’s out there having a gang war with the Yakuza’s and there were loads of Pro Skaters in the middle skating around with Zonda’s and other cars from GT3 driving around. So I thought to myself I will never be able to solve this so why don’t I just go outside to play with some mates and forget it ever happened.

Thanks for Reading,

Steve
