ok ok to u the craze of getting a new console or getting that new game that scored 97% but i was going through my collection of nintendo 64 and PS1 games and i relived the past experiences of the games which did get high marks. Perfect dark, Zelda and metal gear solid were the main three and i remembered getting them and how everyone was really wantting to play or or getting it them selfs. i can remember that when zelda and metal gear solid came out and there was posters about them everywhere and ads on tv and everyone was getting it and talking about it,but like any other craze people completed it and put it to the back of their gaming collection.The next big game was perfect dark, id read the review and preordered it and i got it on the first day out i was well pleased and i couldn`t stop playing it. then it hit me that not many of my mates had bought it and instead was ok with just coming over and playing multiplayer. This is when it hit me that no one seemed interested and ,well, it came to me as a shock after all the fuss about the other games. i put it down to the fact next gen consoles were in developement and ppl wanted to save up for them or that because in many mags it got the same score as zelda and ppl were expecting better now or maybe more ppl prefer RPGs to shoot-em-ups.
so i thought when the next consoles come out they will be the craze so when ps2 came out it was in the news but not many ppl i actually knew about bought one/told me about it. then xbox came out and gamecube and if i didn`t look for them i wouldnt find anything about them. and so far the only big game i can think of is Metal gear solid 2 and with the succes of the last one everyone was hyped up about it and it was on the news. so i waited for the day it was out and it came and only one person i knew got it and werent overly happy by it i put it down to out of stocks but even now i know few ppl whos got it.
so what i want to know is, is that the end of good gaming i hope not and the only producer i cansee that could bring out a good game is nintendo cause they r the only ones with new ideas and thats what we need.

Just because a game isn't hyped doesn't mean it's no good.
I never listen to hype anyway because it's all just that - hype.
Some of the best games I've played over the years have been ones which received no hype whatsoever.
There are great games on every console, and many great games on the verge of release.
Gaming's never been better in my opinion.
