The PS2 has the largest ever launch titles for any console. Is this a good thing? Yes and no. The consumer will never have had it better. They have 30+ mostly great games to choose from. But between now and the end of the year just how many of those games are going to be sold? Only about 200,000 or so PS2s are even making it into the UK. Nobody's going to buy all 30 games, more likely only a couple or several at the most. What this means is that all the developers who have put money into their games are not certain of recouping their development costs. This could then cause many small development houses to shut down and cause a total crash in the industry, with few developers and even fewer games.
Now don't be too bias to the PS2, it's not even out now, wait for the GC or X-Box if it annoys you. (it will annoy all Nintendo fans anyway)
