When we look at the future of gaming we do not no what to expect. Years ago when the first computer was made (which was the size of room) nobody expected by the 90's we would be playing 3D games with real life graphics like Fifa 2000, Half-Life and Indiana Jones.

Now when a new game like the ones above come out we are not breath taken it is just another run of the mill game that costs £35. Over the past few decades the increase in gaming technology has been so much that we have nearly reached the point that we do not know what to do next.

The gaming companies have just ran out of ideas, we have had games that we are managers of football teams to formula 1. We have had games that you build up old empires to building a city, also we have had the extreme of looking after ants to building an airport.
We have had virtual reality, multiplayer games, games over the internet and enough sequels and expansion packs.

So what do we do now, to me the future of gaming is bleak unless some new idea is going to be found soon, unless we will be stuck with the same types of game forever ( which are not bad infact very good but we are always looking for something new).

er - sorry, Ant should read Sheepy. It's just that Ant invaded my keyboard while I wasn't looking and replaced Sheepy's name with his.

Ah, those were the days. Oh, my youth fades - hang on, that was only 2 months ago!
Yeah, Ant, I remember your original topic. Fancy writing about the future of gaming in a Future of Gaming forum. You should be ashamed! But still, the N64 goes on (and Celine Dion hasn't made a song about it yet, so it can't sink) The PS is still stretching itself further, despite the PS2 being out (well, sort of - if you call peeping your head around the gaming corner of console street and yelling 'cooee' in a small voice at the people standing around, out - but that's another story) The Dreamcast is still the one with the rosiest Christmas, and the PS2 may have next years if the X-box release slips any further (or even if it doesn't - controversial!)

Hopefully, because of the lack of power needed, I will be able to run it on solar power.

Unfortuantly, this will be very expensive.

I may try and run it on nitrogen though. Although seemingly impossible, there's a hellava lot of it around.

Nah.

Hey, If you run it on hydrogen, people wouldn't choke on carbon dioxide anymore! Instead they'd drown in distilled water (which will probably be steam at that temperature!)

Why not combine them, you could create a game (by your company Rare!) which involves creating hover vehicles from lots of different parts, including all sorts of wings, thrusters etc with a limited amount of credits, then have to race them against others (including other players on the internet) in a pod racing style.

Pokamon has been a success partly because it is good (well, I'm not entirely convinced, but other people seem to think so) and people would stop buying the stuff if it wasn't, it's like the crazes before it, Ninja Turtles and others, one good thing starts the ball rolling and then it continues until everyone gets fed up.
