World Cup coming soon, and like me, i guess lots of you footie fans are more than looking forward to it, seeing the delights of all the worlds top players coming into one competition.

And what comes with this big event as usual? Another Fifa, with all the teams and sponsors, hip new music, smashing looks, and that same old gameplay we all know and...avoid i guess.

Watching tv the other day, and the Fifa advert pops on, becks doing some tricks and so on, got to say, the actual looks of the game looks very impressive, and from that moment, i have been compelled to get the game.

You all know the feeling, something big like this, you want to be part of it, buy the official stuff. I feel i want this game..but then that fifa tag really puts me off. I mean, i know the game will have all the trimmings and everything, just like you would want this type of game to have, but i also want a game that will play well, and actually give me some fun for a week or two.

So, anyone got it?(not sure if its out yet) Is it really as bad as the old ones? Mainly 2001 as thats what i own.

If it is bad, then please, feel free to slate the game to your hearts content.

Ok, i have clearly decided to avoid it like the auntie you never want to see at a family party in fear of her ripping your cheeks off.

Ill stick with my beloved Pro Evo for the summer, which by no means is a bad thing.

Still, if people want come and slate the game some more,by all means go ahead, i dont mind...SR might though. :D

I got the GC version as part of bundle and it is pants, the graphics are too bright and gaudy and the collision detection is abysmal. You have to time your tackle before the player gets to the spot you think he is aiming for otherwise you will always foul them.

When you see the replay you clearly missed the guy but still get booked, it really is crap. I played my first (and last) game on the default settings whatever they are and woe the world cup first time, beating Argentina 5-0 on the way.

It is as usual far to easy and is very poorly programmed, I dont know if FIFA 2002 is as bad (or was the last one 2001 - I dont really care) but this game shows exactly how bad the FIFA games are.

DO NOT BUY IT !!!!

I dunno where i get the footage on the advert but i played the xbox version which is meant to be the best (apparently) and it looked horrible.....it kept skipping and stuff and the animation was pants....so then i went round to my mates.....he had it for ps2...the graphics were no better but the game did play a bit easier and didn't skip frame rate as much.....but i stilll woudn't get it.

If you want 5-aside soccer, then get Fifa 98:Road to world Cup for the PS1. If i see this game im gona get it, should only be £5. It has the best 5-aside game on it ever, i played on that one section for hours and hours till my cousin snapped the disc (moron).

Anyway, i decided, im gona stick with Pro Evo for the summer (always was, you know that dont you?) and wait for Pro Evo 2.

Nooo don't do it! lol to be honest I was thinking of trying the game out.. (shock horror) but I think your right and its definatly got to do with all the hype surrounding the world cup rather than a fifa thing so I changed my mind, might just rent it or something if I get too tempted. Just changing the subject a little, I wish Puma street soccer would re-release a better version of their game, I liked the idea of 5 a side soccer, very different to any other footy game on the PS 2.

anyway...

Roll on Pro Evo 2 :D

Oh dear, Pro Evo teetering on the brink of buying a FIFA game, quick put this down in the record books ;D

Well I've just checked on the SR site for you and yes it has been released, I thought I saw the game in EB the other day but was being rushed by a nagging person.

Nope I'm not going to be swayed by their marketing ploys any more. I can't remember owning any of their World Cup series as I see this as just total cashin on the event.

I might play it if one of my mates buys it but other than that I'll stick with me game plan....ta ;D
