I never really got into the FF games. I never even got into the Zelda games until I played OOT. I wonder why this is?!

I still don't care much for RPGs, but I still love Zelda: OOT...weird! It's great news for Nintendo though! :)

i'm really surprised that final fantasy tactics was never released in europe on the ps1...cos it was in the us..
which is why i bought a nice and cheap new US ps1 with a copy of final fantasy tactics (and will get a whole load of sqauresoft rpgs that were never released in europe)

Actually having started on FF4 (2) last night, I almost cried... (only bought a PSX yesterday BTW), but the sound and graphics are identical to the SNES version, gameplay is almost the same (except the bl**** buttons are reversed!), but they've changed some of the characters, items, and spell names... meaning a SNES walkthrough would be perfectly valid BUT because I wrote mine from a first-person point of view (guess whose...) it's more or less useless.

Shame we're not seeing ALL the Final Fantasy games being brought back to life on the GameCube and GBA, but there's certainly nothing wrong with getting some newer and un-released games that make good use of the link-up facillity now is there! :D

I'm glad that I still have an old PSX and that Sony are getting the older games for that format. Cuz it now means that we can play all the Nintendo-exclusives that we missed in better-quality 32-bit graphics.

So i'll bet getting no.s: 4+5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 on the Sony machine, Tactics on the GBA, and the new and exclusive GC titles too!

Problem is that there's gunna be too many RPG's to play on one console! ;)

Actually it was 2, 3, and 5 that came out only in Japan. 6 was released as 3 (and 4, of course, as 2). That is, until now, with the (re-)release of 4 and 5 on the anthology disk for the PS1. I'm hoping we see something similar for at least the GBA, especially with Sega releasing Phantasy Star 1-3 on a compilation GBA cart (hopefully) later this or early next year. Or a compilation of the five Final Fantasy GB games (Legend 1-3 and Adventure 1-2).

I think it's great that Square have decided to come back to Nintendo. FF1-6 all appeared on Nintendo consoles and they were all great, I bought most on Import before anyone comments that 2,3 & 6 only came out in Japan. I doubt we'll see FF10 on the Gamecube but 11,12 & 13 seem likely along with the all new Nintendo only project set top be out by Christmas.
