No i don't think so although I think we needed a shoot'em up on launch!
I dont think that the GC launch was in any way spoilt by not having a Mazza game, I mean all the Cubes SOLD OUT compare that to the dismal Xbox sales!!
Have you seen Mario Kart then? No Mario on launch, but Luigi takes his role. I doesnt bother me but like you said Sunshine & MKGC on the way! :D

Thing is there was no real big adventure game (unless you count sonic which lets face it isn't even close to being on par with Mario).
Also no shoot em up.

The launch was good but I really wanted an adventure game like Mario or Starfox.

Luigi's Mansion, Wave Race, Rogue Leader, ISS2, Monkey Ball, Burnout, Bloody Roar, Sonic 2, Crazy Taxi---not too bad a launch line up to me.
I think the launch was really good, so i woudnt say i missed it that much.
