I was reading an article on the PS3 at CNN.com a while back...

www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/ptech/05/06/sony.reut/index.html

in case anyones wants to read the whole article...

I was having a quick glance through, and I noticed it said...

'Sony plans to develop the console by 2005, with a view to putting it on the market when fiber-optic networks become widespread, the sources told Kyodo.

The new machine would be designed for online use on high-speed fiber-optic networks, meaning it would probably be free of memory devices such as DVDs. '

Which I thought was kinda cool, not for any reason other than it means I get to be smug

I seem to remeber writing an article about consoles moving in this direction at the beginning of the year, to which everyones reply was that it could never and would never happen, and that I was more than a little mental for suggesting it...

Later on I'm thinking of laughing like mad scientist, and calling everyone a fool for not believing it could be done... That just depends wether I can get some decent bubbling liquid, a couple of plasma balls and a good lightning storm going...

(However, if consoles do move away from portable media, what would this mean for SR?)

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
Very pleased
Very pleased with the help given by your staff. They explained technical details in an easy way and were patient when providing information to a non expert like me.
