The past two mondays have seen two helpings of perhaps the most disturbing horror on Channel 4. A Japanese film called 'Ring' (last monday 6th May) and it's sequel.... wait for it 'Ring 2' (monday 14th May). They don't sound convincingly scary but ask anyone who watched and I'm sure they'll be avoiding the TV and dreading any Phonecalls.
The films are the work of a Japanese director called Hideo Nakata and are about a strange 'video curse'. People see the video, the phone rings then a week later they die.
I watched them both and I have to say it was the first time in ages that I have been properly scared by a Film. There is one bit where the lead evil-doer, a young girl called Sadako crawls out of the TV screen. Truly disturbing stuff but fantastic Cinema.
Which leads me to my point.

If you like horror films you should try to watch Dawn of the Dead.
You may have already seen it, but if you haven't it's a great film. It doesn't really have any scary moments that makes you jump out of your seat, but it's a great horror film (and definitely the best zombie flick ever).
