I've been trying to figure it out, but I can only think of Zelda. But there's surely got to be something before that.
The first Final Fantasy must be damn old, probably in the 80's?
SKIES of ARCADIA will probably be the first proper rpg for the gc...it's a port of the great game from the dreamcast...let's hope they reduce the number of random battles..

Theres been many before LINK and there shall be many after LINK

Now that's a question, there's been loads but the first? I think it's some game that wasn't too popular and never got a sequel.
