However, most magazines I have read have said that, whilst undoubtedly being a great game, they don't recommend it to beginners. I am still in two minds to be honest, and I want your opinions. I dont want any 'FF IS WICKED, GET IT! crap, I wan proper, formed opinions.
Off you go, then.
it's getting FF games...but i don't think X is one of them

i somewhat doubt it...cos you have to spend so much time and dedication levelling up your characters and doing that chocobo breeding thing...i admit that i have never done it...i was well on my way to preparing myself for it (got cloud up to level 92 or something) but then other games got my attention and i haven't come back since.

lol! Not many, except for like nearly everyone thats played it.
Apart from that, I agree whole Heartilly with the argument.
Have you played an import copy?
Anyway my reasons for buying Final Fantasy 10:
1. Although Zelda, and all the zeldas for that matter are very good games, and have very good playability, do any of them have gorgeus fmv sequences as shown in Final Fantasy 10?
2. The graphics are the best ever seen on a Final Fantasy episode. And will impress even you, a nintendo fan.
3. Instead of playing as just link and being limited to playing as one player, you can control several different players within a battle in Final Fantasy 10.
4. Get to choose what each character does in a battle from attacking, magic, to summoning a aeon to help you whoop thoose enemies. There is even a overdrive (same as limit) which changes for each charcter, but your character will pull off a special move which takes off a large amount of H.P.
5. You don't need experience to play this game! Final Fantasy series have always started off easy and give you the time to adjust to the way of playing so that you can grow with the game and build up your players by collecting experience through battles.
6. I am a girl and have completed all Final Fantasys from 7 to 9. My most proud achievements were defeating Ruby and Emerald Weapon in FF7, which not many people have done. So if I can do this, then surely you can play on FFX. I have played on the demo and the tempo doesn't seem to be set too hard at the beggining for people like you.
7. Good designed characters, which talk!! Do Zelda characters talk, hmm a big NO NO.
8. Good locations, impressive layouts and admirable views.
9. Just buy the demo, or buy FF6 which has the demo with it and you'll soon be conviced to buy this brilliant epic in the FF series. The demo has two playable areas, so is well worth the dosh.
my argument ends here, FFX rocks!!
