Leicester City defender Gary Rowett has today completed his £3.5m move to Charlton Athletic.
The 28-year-old agreed terms with the South Londoners over the weekend, with his move ending a 22-month spell at Filbert Street.
Rowett joined the Foxes at the start of the 2000/2001 season and was an ever-present in his first campaign. However, this season he has been dogged by a knee injury which has restricted him to only 12 appearances.
But Addicks boss Alan Curbishley, a long-term admirer of Rowett, has swiftly moved for the player since his return to action, following Jorge Costa's decision to leave the club.
Curbishley told Charlton's official website: "Gary is a player I have admired for some time. He can play in any position across the back four and with Jorge Costa going back I am delighted that we have been able to secure his services so quickly."
Rowett made 57 league and cup appearances for City, scoring three goals.
