Metal Gear is coming back, and it's set to become bigger than Mario!
I logged on a few minutes ago and came across the SR News Story about MGS going multi-format. At first I was disappointed, but my feelings were soon turned to joy when I saw a piece of my Gran's chocolate biscuit cake lying on the kitchen table, ready for me to devour.
Then I actually read the article. Apparently, Metal Gear Substance is set to be released for X-Box, PC AND PS2. This is good as I don't plan on getting an X-Box, and judging by my performance in my French Year 10 MOCK earlier today I don't think my parents will be buying a new PC anytime soon. I reckon this will be some sort of spin-off title. Well, I don't think it will have any affect on the plot MGS2 left us with, ie. Liquid going off with Arsenal and the Patriots being dead for 100 years. Could be wrong though. Most probably, actually.
AND now, we hear that there's another Metal Gear title in the pipeline!
*screams like a girl*
I would *expect* this to be Metal Gear Solid 3 on the PS2. Quite strange though. If Hideo WAS going to bring out another MGS (which he said he wouldn't) I would've though it'd be on the PS3. Since that's gonna be released in late 2005, and SR said it would be released 2 years after Substance...agh, I don't know, and who cares anyway? MGS IS BACK!!
And what's this...an online Metal Gear Solid!?!?
*screams like a girl and runs around naked*
So, if we look at all the evidence and do all the calculations, that's three more Metal Gear games. All of them probably being on PS2/PS3 and possibly on X-Box and PC.
NONE for GameCube.
Let me repeat: NONE for GameCube. :D
Knowing my luck though, SR will announce tomorrow that all these are set to be released on the GC and no where else.
Anyway, judging by the massive fan base the first two already have, and the prospect of X-Box and PC gamers playing it, AND the prospect of playing online Metal Gear, I say that in 4 years time Metal Gear will be bigger than Mario. Unless of course, Shiggsy (sp?) scares Konami into not making any of them by threatening to paint all their offices in yellow, pink and bright green.
Thanks for reading, Ant.
PS-Yes Stryke, I do take MGS too seriously. Now go watch DVDs for a week, only having breaks for food and water. ;D
And thats a lot.
I know more about films than you.

Pft, I spend more time watching films than you do bashing newbies. And that's a lot

True, but that's why. Everyone will say it was hard so I have an excuse.
I probably could've done better in French...but bollards to it, it's only an exam that doesn't mean anything.

It's better than the Witches. Remember, I'm egotistical. I know more about films than you.
And the film rules. I want a broomstick. Preferably one that flies. Most of all, I want my freedom from the English. I want a crazy Irish sidekick and a ginger guy called Hamish.
> I'm watching Harry Potter.

I watched it the other day, wanted to see what the fuss was about. It's not as good as The Witches film, and that wasn't as good as the book, which was excellent. Kids should be reading Dahl, not JK Rowling!

*cough* GBA *cough*
I'm watching Harry Potter. I want to be 12.
