Even though I am of the male race, I think it is unfair that most characters in modern video games are Male. I do reason that some games have female players, for example perfect dark, but this only features two female agents and the rest of the characters are male.
I would like to see future games with an equal balance of both sexes, it would make the games a lot more practical and satisfactory.

I actually know a lot of my mates that are girls for a FACT are very good gamesplayers, for example I have a mate Emma who loves to play goldeneye with us and she definately gives the men a run for their money! I would be glad to see more gamesplayers that are women, it would be difficult though as there is such a strong stereotype that only boys play computer games. I definately wouldnt mind though.

Are men supposed to like watching Ally Macbeal?

I am beginning to wonder...

Ghostface you dont seem to understand that the males on here are trying to identify the problems and encourage women to get into gaming (both as programmers etc and players). There is no need to insult the men on here. We are trying hard not be chauvonists so why dont you try not to be a feminist.

GameGuru. Well done you won gameaday. Now Majora's mask is all yours!!!

Going on the "pull" is such a childish expression. Why not try and act and talk like an adult.

I agree that women/girls play the same games that lads do. I play my cousin at games like Perfect Dark and Tekken.

The argument about there not being enough female characters is a load of rubbish though. It's not sexist or anything. Games like this are like movies in this way. There's no reason why anyone should have a problem with it.

I think more women need to outwardly appear to be using games, then it will seem okay to do so. It's the majority thing.
Until there are game adverts in women's magazines I don't think too many girls will confess to liking playing games (only confess, mind, I know a lot of female gamers but they would never tell people they liked games)

You get this exact same discussion on every forum i've encountered, and you just don't get it do you boys(maybe that was the problem)Less sexist games won't encourage more girls to play video/computer games. More women need to make them and do the marketing of them.
