Well, I have Spiderman

*cough* downloaded it *cough*

About to watch it, I'll let you all know if it's any good. And before anyone complains about me downloading it and stealing money from Hollywood, I *will* be going to see it at the cinema, if it's good

Exactly

But then, downloaded films are usually less than brilliant quality, to keep the file size down

I've watched DVDs on my computer, and despite the screen being smaller than the telly downstairs, I never felt the quality of the films where any different than if I watched them on big screen.

What about the people who watch DVDs on their computers? Is that the same?

Well of course I didn't mean it literally, I was just making comment on the poor quality of watching a film on a computer screen and how it contrasts to a cinema screen.

Yes, I am fully aware that films don't look as good when viewed as an avi file, especially action films, where you usually can't make out what's happening when the action actually starts. However, this one was pretty good quality

OK, back to the film, it's pretty good. Some rather corny lines/scenes, and the CG Spiderman looks awful (just like the CG Blade in Blade 2) Basically whenever he does anything they couldn't use a stuntman with a green screen for, they've used a CG Spiderman, and it looks pants.

Anyway, the plot isn't explained very well at all, I wouldn't be surprised if some people didn't even know who the villain was.

If you used to watch the cartoon (it's OK, you can admit it) then there won't be any surprises in the plot at all, and it will all seem obvious. However, I get the feeling people who haven't seen any of the cartoons/comics will be left feeling puzzled, because, as I said earlier, the plot isn't explained as well as it could've been. But then maybe that's just because I was watching the film at 3am with the volume down low enough as to not wake my sister in the next room, heh

OK, so there's some scrappy effects, some corny scenes and bad lines, a bad plot and not really enough action, but it's still pretty good, and I'd reccomend it. I'll probably go see it at the cinema for the huge screen experience

You should watch it at the cinema first, you will spoil the effects if you watch it on your pc.

Watching a special effects laden film on a tiny screen is what puts me off from downloading movies in the first place. Still, tell us what its like and if its worth going to see, it looks good but I'm not to sure on whether or not I should see it.

Why would you want to watch it on a five centimetre by five centimetre screen? You'll ruin the film. I'd rather see it on the big screen for my first viewing. Cinema is so much better than video, you get the surround sound, the atmosphere that you just don't get in a home showing. All films in my opinion look better at the cinema.
