We got the same amount of points as we did in 1998 but only lost the title by one point in that year.
Liverpool were 12 points behind us in 3rd that season...
So we havnt done that badly this year in that respect. Its just Arsenal and Liverpool have done better.

Well, Arseanal did win, and so did Liverpool, but Man U couldn't win.
I guess Beckham signing is a small consolation for finishing 10 points behind Arsenal.

Imagine if we beat them Arsenal at Old Trafford...
we never really delivered this season. I thought with becks signing just b4 kickoff it may have lifted Utd to at least give us a win 2day but obviously not.

Possibly. Beckham is definitely a battler and there has always been talk of him playing in the middle.
Although 100,000 a week is a bit much...
5 Million a year...I suppose that aint that bad actually considering how much it would cost to replace someone like Beckham (if you could actualy find someone)

Yeah it's great news.
Even though player's wages are spiralling out of control, United need Beckham more than ever.
I see him as the future captain and when Keano hangs up his boots, I think Becks will move into the middle and take over as midfield general.
