"...The New 'Wembly Stadium' is going to cost £800 Million.."
- BBC Radio Digital
After Recovering from the shock, I thought hold on...
The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff Cost a third of that Price and it beats the old Wembly by a long way..?
I have been lucky enough to experince going to this stadium and I have noticed that it has Great atmosphere, Large and cheerful Crowds & fantastic Matches...
Im sure anyone who has visited the place would agree with this..
My Point? A decent Stadium can be built for a fraction of that price therefore why not invest the money to help those smaller clubs whom are facing financial crisis because of the ITV Digital situation?
You English people can't be all that clever...
;)

Oh the irony!

Its a completely different atmosphere. I saw Wales play Brazil with the roof over and there was something different (but still cool) about it. There was a 'closeness' to the game...
A roof really just expands what the stadium can do or hold, outside of football. Mainly gigs and exhibitions.
Did we really need something like that????
Surely all that matters is the football, and the atmosphere from a live match is like nothing you could ever get from Interactive TV!

A roof is good cuz it'll help keep the grass dryer, and keep the game flowing a lot better than it would with a wet surface.
What the hell was wrong with the Old Wembley????
That's where Hurst won us the World Cup, and where many memorable matches have been played!
Who cares if it looked old! It was a piece of History in Brittish Football!
Although I am biased cos I live in Cardiff.
