Y'know the previous Metal Gear games, the forgotten ones, like Metalgear MSX and MetalGear 2 Solid Snake? Well, listen to this idea:
None of us actually played these games, just read about them maybe. And we hear Snake talk about Big Boss and his history with Gray Fox ad everything, all through Metal Gear Solid 1. I found the urge to experience these games and understand properly for myself what it's all about, getting bigger every day. Seeing as MSXs aint available anymore and neither are the games (I don’t think), I would like to know if anyone else wants them to be remade for the PlayStation 2 (or the XBox, whatever), and if anyone else shares my view, just put a post in here or simply put your name down. It would be very much appreciated. From this I would then like to take this topic to other forums over the internet and do the same survey. Then, with enough assurance that people support this idea, I would contact Konami and tell them about it. It is highly unlikely that they are going t listen to just one person telling them to make two whole games (or just one big one) but it’s worth a try to see what they think!

The game is called Metal Gear Solid Substance, and has been announced as in development for the Xbox, PC and PS2.
It was announced at a recent Konami profits meeting, and is believed to be a reworking of an older game. They also announced that a sequel to Zone of the Enders is in development!!!

False. The title is:
"Metal Gear Substance"
This means its title isn't "Metal Gear Solid" and suggests it'll be a different style of game to the previous incarnations.

I have the original metal gear for nes, nothing special actually I didn't care to go beyond the first few levels/screens but your right MGS1 did have quite a back history about Snake's past experiences and I think remaking these would be a grand idea. Hideo Kojima said MGS3 wouldn't be a bad idea after getting too many 'Raiden Sucks' letters so you never know.
