After weeks of deciding i went for ps2

Reasons:

I couldn't be bothered to wait for GC
>>>>>>
There was only 1 game I wanted at launch for GC
>>>>>>
There were at least 5 decent titles I wanted for ps2 which were out all ready ( devil may cry, gta3, mgs2, GT3, agent under fire)
>>>>>
PS2 has a dvd player

but i would definately get a GC instead of xbox

it has good games, but ps2 only won with a narrow margin

cause GV has way better multiplayer games ( 4 ports too)

I wish Sony could learn to put 4 ports on the PS2 and make some decent multiplayer games though

cause with GC and N64 games, each game was either 1 player, or 1-4

yes, and also check the specs

ps2 has top res of approx 1280*960, whereas GAMECUBE has top res of 640*800 or something close to that

and PS2 can shift hundreds of polygons whereas GC has 6-12

oh well, GC has a faster processor though - 485mhz

GC would have a wider range of games, but to be honest, it's only been released for 5 days, Zero...

I hope I'm not too late.....DON'T GET AGENT UNDER FIRE!!!

Really, do not get it! It is one of the worst FPSs I have played in a long time.

FPSs I'm looking forward too though include Medal of Honor: Frontline, Turok Evolution, Metroid Prime and of course, Perfect Dark.

Only 1 of those are on the PS2. Well, 2 if you count Turok but I've heard that's being primarily developed for GC and then being ported to PS2 and X-Box. Either way, I'll be getting it for GC.

But back on topic, avoid Agent Under Fire, and wait for Medal of Honor. June 7th. Okay I've not played it but I've played the PS1 games and they are far better than AUF. No joke.

Just thought i'd mention.

PS2 claims it can do 66 Million polygons/sec. GC says only 6-12milion/sec. That is with all added effects - rendering, lighting, sound EVERYTHING that makes LM Rouge Leader and Wave Race look so damn good. PS2s polygon count drops below the GC when all the stuff is added - In fact, the GC has outperfomed the XBOX in this area already - EA Canada got 15 Million polygons out of the GC easily. The XBox can get around 12, but so can the Cube.

1) Specs don't matter... who ever is quoting them is missing the point!

2) Game matter... and some people will prefer PS2 games, and some will prefer GC games.

Personally, I got so bored with my PS2 (which became a DVD/Rez player) that I traded it for a GC...

But other people will prefer PS2 games...
