Went back home and mate produced a screener-copy of "Lord Of The Rings" DVD.
A screener copy is the copy they provide to video-shops so they can watch and see if they think it's worth stocking.
Absolutely, 100% perfect quality as it's not a pirate.
Just a little text bar saying "Screener Copy only, not for sale or rently. Property of New Line Cinema" that runs across the bottom once every 30 mins or so.
It's an excellent film, especially watching it at home, sprawled on the sofa smoking.
And Samwise Gamgeee is so totally 100% in love with Frodo.
It loses nothing on the transition to smaller screen and, if anything, is better as it doesn't overwhelm you.
I've no idea when this is out to rent/buy, but I'm going to watch it again at the weekend if mate can bring it over again.
You may touch me now, for I rule.

"Ahem. It's the first part of a trilogy."
"Whut?"
"3 films?"
"Nah mate it was only wun film u must be fick"
"Cretin."
Then I smash his head in with the gold chains he draped himself in.
Excellent film and I enjoyed it more not surrounded by hundreds of stupid people going "But they didn't destroy the ring" when it finished.
"I love you Mr Frodo and want to roll about in my wet hobbit clothes with you"
"Sam, get a grip!"
"I can't help it sir, I want to feel your pasty face pressing down on mine"
Something like that.
It'll probably be on the 9-disc 17 hour version being released in August.
It's that scene at the end that amuses me. Sam actually gazes at Frodo. Probably gazes lovingly, too.
