I didn't pre-order myself as I was out of the country at the time so either I wait till march or I can go to Amsterdam and que up to buy one and pay less than £300(I think).
As Kieran said, just be careful with compatibility issues.
I bought a Japanese Megadrive and never had any problems as all games would run on it and the power conversion was easy as pie. Alas, however, I also bought an American SNES (I was very impatient when I was younger I am slightly better now) and due to the signal conversion I had more problems. Also English games needed a converter and some would nut run even with that. After a couple of years the signal conversion box gave up the ghost and I had to go and buy a new SNES (UK version this time).
So, the moral of the story is, talk to someone in the know first. I am sure one of the import shops would know all the info you need.

I know nothing about the overseas consoles, so i not the best person to respond to this post. But am i right in saying that the power systems abroad are different to the uk. I'm sure that this could be rectified easily if it is right, but i just play the consoles and am not very good with electrics at all. (Partially due to my colour blindness!)
