There has never been a close collaboration between films and games, apart from the abismal "tron" and "war games" of the eighties, tomb raider, mortal kombat and the ever so ridiculous street fighter movies of the nineties. But witht the new consoles, games are becoming closer to film and on the basis of entertainment, games have the potential to surpass films in every way. The problem is adults. I don't mean grown ups, who have grown up, i mean "ADULTS" who dictate every thing and decide that everything they like is good, everything they don't like is bad. But in 30 years time these adults will be gone and wth the current generation ruling the country then maybe games will be taken more seriously. I'm quite upset that games are only given taxes and certificates. I'm sure if adults would take into account that games are a more promising market than films, then more companies would invest in games, and therefore improve the gaming quiality for all, then maybe more gamers would be taken into account and RSI and eye strain resaerch would be funded and so making the gaming experience more enjoyable. They do it with films, WB, Amblin, MGM and 20th C Fox all give money to help make films better, to improve the quality and veiwing style. If this was done with games and more adults pain attention to the gaming market none of the problems in gaming that exist now would ever happen again.
It seems that the adults just leave it on it's own in the kitchen, then when it explores the cutlery draws and starts to play with knives it shouts at it, but then lets it carry on!
I'm just angry that gamers aren't taken seriously, they should be treated more like the films!
