GC: Small, Compatible, Comfortable, Plety of Buttons, Rubbery, and Cool
Xbox: Big, Fat, Too many Buttons, Ugly, Uncomfortable, and Cheap
WHICH IS BETTER? That was my opinion, what's ures?
Personally, I think when it comes to holding the controllers, the GC one just about wins for me cause of the way it shapes to your hand. The X-Box controller has more buttons though which helps for different types of games. Thing is with the GC one in this area is that it can get annoying with less buttons because in Rogue Leader for instance, closing the X-wing's wings and the acceleration are both done with the same button, so things can get annoying when your trying to pick up speed but end up closing your wings in the middle of a battle.
I don't like the location of the Z button on the GC controller and I think the X-Box controller has a better rumble to it. I like the analogues on both controllers and as for the button layouts, I think both are ok, but I think the X-Box controller's layout is more universal for different types of games. The D-Pad on the GC controller is too small in my opinion as well. But then I'm not too keen on the webbed D-Pad the X-Box's pad has.
It would have been nice if the GC controller's lead was a little longer too, but thats not a really bad let down or aynthing. Overall I find the X-Box controller better in most areas, but the GC controller is nicer to hold.
GC controller is brilliant apart from the position of the Z button. Ah well i guess ill get used to it.
I still find the PS2 controller the most comfortable, simply because I prefer the rounded grips to GC's flatter ones - but it's very close.
If they ever release the smaller Xbox controllers here, I'll be getting some. Assuming, of course, that I still have my Xbox at that time.
Though I still believe the GC to be the superior console. But only because of the original games, and if these stop, I will love my PS2 like I did before GC.
