We had 6 of us doing a train over our local jump spot. When I say local, its about half-an-hour's ride away. It goes:
low but fast tabletop
small double (transfer)
Huge tabletop (massive air, transferable)
Tiny Tabletop
Massive Table (huge transfer as well)
The spot has been built out of a ravine so there's nowhere to bail to, but we're all good enough to not stack. I was sessioning really well today, lovely and smooth, tho I nosed it a couple of times.
If you live in the Surrey area get over to the Lookout and find the trails and jumps, gogogo!
Unfortunately they are often festooned with Jeyboys. We were having a nice session when all of a sudden an army of like 30 Jeyboys appeared! They just stood around the entrance to the jumps while two out of the thirty rolled OVER the jumps, not getting ANY air or anything.
My bike is a Saracen X-ile, though I've customed it with
Club Roost H20 grips
Marzocchi Z3s
Tioga DH 2.3s
Magura HS33s
XT/Deore componentry
All thats leftare the rims and frame...I'm thinking of a Halo Combat rear and Mavic D521 front, with a 24/Seven v.02 frame.
I dunno if you know alot about jumping but if you do then gimme some input...if you ave no idea what I am on about then sorry.
Biking is still a rather seclusive sport and the deluge of Jeys is making it hard, but we will try!
You're going to need a hardtail for hardcore jumping, full sussers are too heavy and so you will get less air. Opt for a bike with around 100mm of front travel. Proper jump bikes only have a rear brake to save weight and help pivot the bike mid-air.
I would go for a steel frame over an alu as you will get a bike that can take more punishment and is more responsive.
Of course i could go on for ages and look like a total show-off on the forums so basically I would say go for the
24/Seven Dark Angel v.02
look it up. If you need any more help contact the biking guru at
