What was the game that got you into gaming?
What was the first game you played through that made you think "WOW", this is amazing?

For me it was Crazy Taxi on the Dreamcast.
When I first saw the graphics and actually got to grips with the controls, I was hooked.
I was amazed by the scale of the cities and the personalities of the customers.
I became addicted to speeding along the sunny San Francisco streets performing "Crazy Dashes" and "Crazy Drifts" and generally sussing out the quickest routes to the various destinations.
Being new to gaming at the time, I wasn't very good, in fact I was probably really bad, but I became so enthralled by the gameplay that over the space of a few weeks I eventually started to master it.
The day I got my first "Crazy License" is a day I'll never forget.
For me it was a big achievement, because up until a few weeks prior I had never even picked up a joypad, nevermind played a videogame.

And this is what I like about videogames: I like the fact that you can buy into new and unusual worlds.
I'm playing *Jet SetRadio Future* at the moment, and even though it's the 2nd installment in the series, if ever there was a fresh and original game, this is it.

I also like the way you can do things in games that you can't possibly do in real life: like driving a taxi like a lunatic.
It's the fantasy of it all.
All personal problems and hassles just go flying out of the window once you start playing a game you love.
And even though many games are tricky to get to grips with at first, there is always room for mastership - this is what got me hooked on Crazy Taxi - well that and the atmosphere and character of the cities.

So back to the point, I was just wondering: which game initially got you into gaming?

There was never an end to Duck Hunt was there?

I must have reached level 70 and it never ended!

After that, it was too fast even to stand with the gun by the screen!

In Duck Hunt I just went right up to the screen with the gun because I found it too hard :-(

Heh, it sounds funny now but I thought Mario Bros. on the NES was an incredible game! And Duck Hunt, with the light-gun, was also a brilliant game! Hey, I was 5 at the time! :D

Then from Mario 1 I went onto 2, 3, the SNES's Mario World, couldn't get Mario RPG, then it was Mario 64 and Paper Mario, and next will be Mario Sunshine. I also think that the first my Mario game got me into him and his games, and that got me into the cartoons, and then also into the likes of Mario Kart and Tennis.

Hmmmm, I wonder if Duck Hunt got me into Doom on the PC??

It was Super Mario Bros, if it came on the same cart as Duck Hunt, not Super Mario Bros 2.

heh, I had the Master System. Not the Master System 2, the 'Master System' :-D

I had Duck Hunt and I think it was Hang On built into mine whilst you had Alex Kid right? It was nice of them to bundle a game inside the system like that back them.

The Master System/Mega Drive days. *sighs* SEGA kicked some serious gaming butt then.

Heh, mine was on the master system too. Well, the master system 2 actually, even though that's virtually what i said before... never mind.

Sonic, that was my first. Along with alex kid in miracle world. I preferred sonic though, as it was a bit easier and more accessible than alex kid. Still, the day i completed the game, beating that guy who's name i can't remember, but might have been a bit like the legend of zelda's ganondorf...
And completing asterix on the master system, that was cool too.

And then i was hooked : )

For me it was Super Mario Bros. 2 on the NES. I believe it was number 2 anyway. It came on the same cartridge as Duck Hunt.

My parents got it for my brother and I at the price of 30 quid. Cheap cheap cheap.

Had 22 games in the end and still do. I often go back to it for a quick play.

I tell you, games back then were a lot harder trhan they are now! I complete all my games now. I had quite a few in my NES collection that I couldn't do. And its not because I've improved cause I still can't complete most of them.

Wrath of the Black Manta drove me insane! I got to the last boss and needed to hit him 7 times with a different move in the right order. Could hit 3 times. That was it! And I still can't do it.

First game that I got into was probably one on my Master System which was bought for me by my parents when I was five. That had to be the system which got me into gaming, I had about thirty two games overall as my parents bought it off my cousin.

I kept that console for a while playing games like Rastan (which was excellent) and Sonic etc buying games as the years went on and then I bought an Amiga CD 32 - Biggest console flop ever in my view!

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.

So far the services you provide are second to none. Keep up the good work.
