As if anyone didn't know, it's the sort-of sequel to Life on Mars.

Well, it starts next week (7 February 2008, 9.00pm, BBC One), and it looks like it's going to be excellent.

No John Simms, but Sam Tyler is mentioned at the beginning and probably during the series too, as the woman now going 'back in time' is the psych officer who examined his notes when he woke up, so she knows what to expect from Gene Hunt.

Been waiting ages for this, anyone else going to be watching it?

Yep, I think that's the idea. Quite good that they've taken something from the Bowie video, all fits together.

I do like this new series, but it does feel completely different to Life On Mars. Was anyone else disappointed at the fate of Sam, though?

Yups been watching it too. Gene does make me laugh still, as did the whole team when they turned up in sunglasses with guns. Not sure what I think about it just yet, but it seems to be going in a good direction.

Oh and does that clown freak anyone else out a bit?

Yep! I watched it last week and although it's similar to Life on Mars in many respects, the fact that she knows all about Sam and what's going on makes it different enough to keep your attention - well mine anyway. So I'll certainly be watching again on Thursday.
