I need your help

I got Jedi Knight 2 this morning and the specs just meet my PC so I wasn't sure what to expect...

It installed fine... started okay... took a while to load... gave me the startup text... and then crashed... before I started it said there wasn't enough physical memory to play proberly..

What does that mean?

I'm guessing there isn't enoguh RAM... if that is the case... how much is it to update your RAM and stuff?

Thanks

10 years ago you'd have paid £70 for a mere 2GB Ram card, so yes, I think it's cheap nowadays.

Dirt cheap?!?

You're having a giraffe aren't you? A couple of months ago you could get a 512MB stick of PC133 RAM for £35.

My mate got a GIG for £70.

I wish I'd bought some at the same time...

OK, it's the RAM then.

SR does RAM dirt cheap - http://ukram.com/

pick up a 128mb sdram dimm for £40, should make all the difference. I have 384MB RAM on my PC, and I tihnk it could use more sometimes, especially in these days of 1gb RAM PCs. But for a quick fix upgrade, 128mb SDRAM should make the game work, how well I can't say, but it should work.

Nah there is plenty of room on hard disk.

I'm pretty sure its RAM although something came up when I restarted it about driver updates and it never found any.

of course, it goes without saying that a new hard drive is more expensive than a RAM upgrade, so if the HD is the problem, just delete some stuff.

If you think you need more RAM, it's not expensive, I bought a 256 MB upgrade for my PC from SR the other week for about £70. But i doubt you'll need that much extra.

But I expect the problem is just as likely to lie in your Hard drive. How much space do you have free? If you have loads of HD space, then it's your RAM I guess.
