BT internet just sent me the oddest of e-mail, well my dad actually. They basically said that although their service is called ANYTIME, they are going to restrict usage, and because they are restricting online time, my current usage patterns are going to fall outside the designated timeframes. So, would I be willing to consider BT broadband. Oh yes, would I be willing.

Well that's what the e-mail said. It also offered me the first three months rental free (£90) and a free activation (£65 normally). So let's just say I was intrigued... I go to the site and read through the FAQ about this offer, which reveals BT's hidden agenda. What they are actually saying is that unless I upgrade to broadband they are going to chuck me off BT anytime, and why you might ask... Because I use my BT anytime anytime I want to, but that's just not the way things are done at BT.

So after a mini-conference with my Dad we decided to upgrade. Cue BT's stuttering ordering service that failed twice. I mean it hardly inspires you with confidence does it? They also provided a space to write your e-mail address that had a character limit too small to accomodate any @btinternet.com address... Finally after much unnecessary hassle we got signed up and withint the next 15 days, barring any blunders, I should be broadbanding. When I am zipping along the broadband high way I fully intend to:

a. download the trailer from Grix's site, seeing as he refuses to make a dial-up version :-)

b. Get on-line games and lose to all of you repeatedly

c. download more mp3's than I know what to do with

d. upload my grand opus, "The life of Philip A. Gourd" a dodgy documentary about a vegetable I made...

Oh and if you're wondering what I'm doing posting this in here, it's because I wanted to say well done for all the GAD's you guys been winning... They said this forum would never work and look at us now! We rule in a collective, brains' trust style way.

Well, my hiatus will continue until my exams are over, but then I shall be back with a broadband-induced vengance and every member that clicks through the threads of SR will know the name Mr.Happy (gratuitous Usual Suspects reference)

Now I'm off to watch the rest of Chinatown. It rules.

Oh and Ed Wood on Friday 12:30am (unless you're Grix who seems to have different times for all TV programmes due to his location) IT's a Tim Burton masterpiece. About a b-movies director.

And it rules.
You all rule.

Ooh, and thanks for even considering to download my trailer. :0D

Trailer's Revenge is in production, but something called coursework has to be finished by next monday. And exams too.

Hang on, Friday's today.

Does that mean it's on tonight? Where's Padme gone.

You suck, Happy.

I too am not being on here as much, due to revision kicking in. Anyone who's considering taking AS History or Politics, don't. Become a hermit and wander the great cities of the world instead.

There's a good site about broadband at www.broadband-help.com: BT get some AFWUL write-ups. Seems like they're deliberately slowing things down at their end - bizaare. I got an ADSL connection with Pipex a couple of weeks ago and it's excellent. Maybe you should think about cancelling your order with BT and going for a third-party solution. At least these other companies have some clue what they are doing!

Hi Mr. Happy! Apparently there's a website www.btopenwoes.com or something similar for people p*ssed (god damn you, SR) off with BT's appaling level of service. I cannot give you enough reasons to stay away from them, they're a bunch a rogue dealers, cowboys and sharks. Pretty sure they're all the same.
