Fender Stratocasters and Marshall amps. Match made in heaven right? That's why most people use them! They were made famous by the greatest guitarist who ever lived, Jimi Hendrix, and are still played today by many great artists. To name a few, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughen. But I also found out recently that the exact same rig is used by all 3 members of Iron Maiden, who have been described by some, as "The Greatest Rock/Metal Band Ever"! This proves that although the strat is generally thought to have a pretty clean, clear, sharp sound, with the right Pick-ups (The lead guy from Iron Maiden for instance uses a DiMarzzo High Distorion Humbucker, and 2 single coil Joe Satriani's. Same as me infact!), and an overdriven amp, there's no reason why a Fender Stratocaster can be as much of a heavy Rock/Metal guitar as a Gibson Les Paul!!!!!!!

Cool rig! 2 of my m8s hav xactly the same as that, except 1 bought his from Argos! Do u just hav the standard Fender pick-ups, or hav u put anything special on there?
I have a Squier Strat with a small squier 10watt amp. I got it in a special pack from www.guitar-mania.com. It came with a pack of spair strings, a plectrum, a stand, a strap, the amp and a video.
