recently microsoft announced that some of their online broadband games for x-box that are to come out will be able to play across the internet with users with a playstation 2, the game most people are shouting about to use this is the online final fantasy ( i think it's final fantasy 11). Anyway does this mean that the two companies can come together?
wouldn't they face problems within the game? seeing as the x-box will have better graphics and higher polygon counts, wouldn't the ps2 user incure massive slow down when the x-box users charactor comes on the screen? or would it be scaled down so it would be more compatible with ps2. Does anyone think microsoft are doing a good move to be able to provide online play for ps2 and the x-box. would it bring the two companies closer, it would be funny to see a sony/microsoft console hybrid.

i think sony has the right mind for the games console, not going over the top with specs and so on.
microsofts x-box already seems like a pc, they already upgraded to 733 mhz before the public has even seen proper pics of the console.
With all the promise of the x-box lets hope that the price would not be like a pc's price all £1000 plus. but since mr gates is behind it all i bet he still thinks that has wallet isn't as full as he hopes.
