The "Xbox Games" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
On the other hand, Playstation and Gamecube are not included. So once again Microsoft is aiming for world domination, soon we shall have 'The New Microsoft Dictionary Of The English Language Version 1'. This would will be closely followed by 'The New Microsoft Dictionary Of The English Language version 1 SE'.
Soon all schools, libraries and the likes will have such dictionaries, then and only then 'The New And Revised Microsoft Dictionary Of The English Language version 2' would appear.
If that's not bad enough, how long before Microsoft release a uniformed platform in the guise of 'The New Microsoft Dictionary Of The Anglo -American English Language' Suitable for all users of the English Language.
Of cause with the latter, all though it's an International release and suitable for all users of the English language, the UK version will be twice as expensive as the US version and If more than one person in your family want to use it, well you'll need another copy.
Ok, this is only a possibility but world domination has to start somewhere!
Microsoft will buy any company that makes any competing dictionaries and sink them into the ground.
They will sign up some words as exclusives to their dictionaries for a few months.
They will claim that their idea of having a book with 'pages' was theirs - all other books you saw with pages in the past were just fragments of your imagination.
The dictionary will cost 500 quid for the first week of release. Then it will come down to 54p because they aren't selling.
Microsoft Dictionaries will be the size of your front door, except for in Japan where they have been made the same size as a match box... 3 months after five Japanese people died after they were crushed by a falling dictionary.
Any words that are related to September 11 (including 'September' and '11/eleven/eleventh') will be emitted from the dictionary and Microsoft will claim they never existed. Any reference to these words will be made illegal, as though this will somehow bring back the people who died.
The entry for 'Linux' will be as follows: 'Something you should never ever try, no matter how much the bad man in the park tells you to. I mean it. We are Microsoft. Resistance is futile.'
You will need to enter a Microsoft Dictionary authentication code the first time you open your dictionary, else it won't work.
These codes will be pasted all over the net in a matter of hours.
Their 'calling home' algorithm that is supposed to be impossible to crack or hack will be cracked by a 6 year old Russian kid twenty minutes after he starts.
Millions of Microsoft Dictionary users will lose their emails after a Russian hacker decides to hack the email server. Any private details/info they had on there is now common knowledge among the hacking underground.

Don't forget you'll have to connect your disctionary to the net to download the latest patches and bug fixes that allow 'malicious' users to hack it.
Every 5 words you check up will result in a protection error and you will have to close the dictionary and open it again.
Microsoft will write the software so that it doesn't work any more if you install new words that have not been authenticated by Microsoft first.
Actually, instead of being able to install new words you will instead have to buy a new dictionary every few months that is completely incompatible with the last one.
