Just thought you'd like to know that Empire magazine reviewed the Gamecube and the Xbox, giving the Gamecube 5 stars, and the Xbox 4 stars.

Also they said that Obi-Wan was disappointing on the Xbox, btu Rogue Leader ruled.

the future of gaming is in your hands
the consoles, the Specs and My Opinion

PS2

CPU
128-bit emotion engine
294.14 mhz proccesor

Graphics
147 Mhz
75 million polygons a second

1 Year running, an excellent start with the widest range of games, loads of extra hardware to add with it. Plays DVD's, no internet is a definate. Need to buy multi tap for more than 2 people games. Yet to see the full graphics of PS2, Jax and daxter, GT3A, GTA3, red faction, are best examples of graphics so far

It has a long way to go before it dies, games are just getting better, and on the way is a a USB hard Drive and Modem expansion pack with online play lauched recently in Japan. Can it get any better? A must Buy Ny day if you havent allready got one.

Gamecube Release Spring 2002, around 200 quid
Confirmed May 4 £130 roughly

Proccesor
IBM Power "gekko" 405mhz

Graphics
6-12 Milliion a second

Internet capability
56 K modem
Broadband Modem

Yep still has that kid feeling doesn't it, capable of multiplayer with 4 ports and optiional modem attachment for either telephone or broadband connections. Play your Gameboy advance on it as a controller, this will be used with new pokemon games and also as a controller for for monkey ball game where you can tilt your contorller rather thatn pressing d-pads or analouge sticks to move the floor, impressive technology.

There is no dvd option though but panasonic are making a more expensive silver version with dvd drive if it really matters to you.

But still some excellent looking games on the way such as Super Smash Bros Mellee, Star Wars: Rouge Squadron 2, Luigis Mansion etc

Unlike the x-box it has no hard drive but has large meory cardes and the fis=rst to use a new type of disc hoding more than ever and completly getting rid of the dreadded loading screen.

this looks to be good console

xbox Release 14th March, dropped to £199

Processor
Pentium 733 mhz CPU

Graphics
Custom designed Nvidia card 250 Mhz, 3x more than any other console

Memory
8GB Hard drive

Interenet
Optional broadband

The power of a pc, just for games, the most powerfull graphics with a custom designed graphics chip, dvd's requires a simple add on. Interenet is designed for bordband with an ethernet port at the back, however with games such as wwf you will be able to update games with patches, just like a pc, microsoft influence explains that.

The console for you if all your asking for is power.

However it hasnt made a big an impact as expected, not many people have been impressed with games so far, but like with other consoles better games have allways came out later, so have we really senn what it is capable of? Can that hard drive not where every single bullet asing is dropeed, every stain of blood, ervery footsstep to influence a game outcome? Should we only mock the current games, not the console

For now i will just take a blacxk marker pen and write "x-box mark 2" on the enlight case of my pc

The, Decision is yours, The latest game MGS2 is the best reason yet for a PS2 being exclusive to it for at least a year,The x-box has power but wit the current lack of good games its just gonna sit there gathering dust, explaining wthe lack of poularityand the suddden proce drop to go against what is an exrtemely cheap price of the Gamecubes release but to have great games straight away. They are all unique, some games, exclusive to a console but for now The PS2 anyday, The Gamecube yes, but the X-box can wait untill a Game worhty of it appears.

Don't forget people in high places resigning..... And the rubbish games, well except Halo and DOA3, but they can't compare to the GC's anyhow. Metroid Prime will be better than halo for sure.
