I have just purchased The Sims pack, and well it was a waste of money. Most of the features on it were stuff you could download off the net and I had most of that anyway. So to get to the main point I do not believe that expansion packs are really worth it, some of the packs are worth it when they provide completetly different features. I thought the RCT expansion was worth it because it gave more rides and levels. The Sim City 3000 new game that was out they could have put the new stuff in the original game, but were greedy and wanted more cash. Anyway I am a bit annoyed at companies that do this but well expansion packs are good because they let you play more in a game that you love.

The RCT expansion I think is worth it. What is it now about a tenner and for that you get about 20 new scenarios and a whole lot of new rides!
Jedi Knight expanction was good, as was Xwing V Tie fighter. Which I forgot to buy.
