Who clears away dead animals?
You've definitely seen them
Lying by the road with blood-flecked coats:
Broken bones and taxidermist eyes.
But where do they go when they die?
Who informs their relatives
And who executes their wills?
Who clears away dead animals
When they carcrashdie?
How long do they have to wait
Before they're cleared away?
It doesn't matter much to them
But it matters a lot to me..
How long will I have to lie here
Until they clear up me?

Oh, I know that the poem wasn't directed at animals, but you can see the obvious connection

When I was 13, I had the unfortunate job of 'identifying' my baby kitten that was lying on the road. It's horrible seeing something that you love and cherrish so much in such a bad way, knowing that you can't do anything.

Great poem

It was about people actually. People who die in car crashes. The narrator is dead and waiting for some one to come along and clear him away.

And to continue our topic of poetry, a previously undiscovered poem from Ted Hughes dedicated to his late wife

Rose Are Red
Violets Are Blue
You Are Dead

were you being serious, or taking the mick out of animals? If you were being serious, that was very good, if you were takin the mick that was very very bad.
