(This match is set before the CAW title match)

Backstage before the match...

Cong Man: Are you sure you don't need any help tonight.

Hawk (AfroJoe): No you've still got your title defence. I want to show that I am the better man and defeat the Rat fairly in the middle of the ring.

Cong Man: OK, if you're sure.

-------------------------------------------------

Howard Finkel: "The following match is a non-title match and is for a place in the King of the Ring quarter finals. Introducing first weighing in at 200lbs, the Rat."

The Rat runs down to the ring to his music and is greeted by cheers from the crowd.

"And his opponent, one half of the CAW tag team champions and is the reigning HardCAW champion, weighing in at 300lbs, Hawk (AfroJoe)"

Hawk deliberately walks down to the ring met by a mixture of cheers and boos.

The two men circle each other in the ring eyeing each other up. Both are members of the Revolution which seems to be drifting apart. Hawk is the first to move and lunges at the Rat and they lock up. Hawk demonstrates his strength by forcing Rat into the corner. Nick Patrick (Hybrid Valves), the referee breaks them up. Again the two circle each other warily. This time the Rat is the first one to move, but instead of tying up with Hawk he slides under his legs and hits Hawk with a surprise German suplex. Hawk looks a little stunned on the floor but is immediately dragged to his feet by the Rat who seems to want to keep the pace high to tire out the larger Hawk. The Rat whips his opponent into his ropes, but Hawk comes straight back at him with a huge diving clothesline which knocks both men off their feet.

Hawk and the Rat take a few seconds to recover before getting back to their feet. The Rat goes to punch Hawk but it is blocked and Hawk comes back with a right hand of his own, and another one, and another one which he follows up with a huge left, knocking the Rat off his feet. In a brawl few can beat Hawk's power. Hawk quickly drops a few elbows on the Rat to do as much damage as possible while the Rat is defenceless. Despite this the Rat manages to get to his feet using the ropes to help him. As soon as he stands up he is met with a hard kick to his stomach by Hawk who then puts Rat's head between his legs and sets him up for the powerbomb. He lifts him up onto his shoulders, this could spell the end for the Rat...

But no! The Rat shows great agility by reversing the move into a hurracanrana. A dazed looking Hawk staggers to his feet but is knocked back down by a leg sweep from the Rat who is now starting to build some momentum. He runs towards the ropes and then hits Hawk with a springboard elbow drop. The crowd are starting to come to life as this match starts to get exciting.

Hawk is now getting back to his feet but the Rat immediately sets him up for a DDT. However Hawk senses this and shows great power by reversing it into a Northern Lights Suplex.

..and the Rat kicks out. He needs to be careful as Hawk is a always a dangerous and powerful opponent. To demonstrate this even further he picks the Rat up and lifts him up over his head, humiliating Rat in the process, before slamming him back down to the ground. Hawk then makes his way to the turnbuckle slowly climbing before stopping and taunting his opponent, before hitting a huge elbow drop. The Rat is writhing in pain and Hawk goes for a lazy cover, he thinks he's won it.

What resilience, the Rat kicked out after such a huge move! Hawk can't believe it, and attempts another pin this time hooking the Rat's leg.

The Rat kicks out more easily but every time he has to kick out from under his 300lb opponent he is using up energy. Hawk drags the Rat up by his hair which angers the Rat who hits Hawk with a low blow, which he follows up with a swinging neckbreaker. He then follows this up with an armbar. Hawk is trying frantically to get Rat off of him but he can't. Hawk's trying not to show any pain but his grimace shows he is hurting. He turns his attention away from his opponent and reaches for the ropes with his foot, and he just makes it and the referee breaks the hold. Hawk rolls out of the ring to give himself a chance to recover. The Rat tries to get Nick Patrick to make Hawk return to the ring but all he does is start a ten count. This is too long for the Rat, so he climbs through the ring onto the apron. What's he planning?

He jumps of the apron onto Hawk's shoulders, could it be another hurracanrana. No Hawk's caught him! He turns around and powerbombs him through the announcer's table! What impact! The crowd are stunned and JR and the King have been literally buried under their own announce table. Hawk surveys the damage he’s caused and is a little shocked himself. He doesn’t know what to do, and tries to pin the Rat. However Nick Patrick, the referee, won’t make the count, as this is not a hardcore match. Hawk drags the Rat to the ring and tosses him through the ropes. He follows him through and goes for the pin.

1..2..

The referee’s stopped counting, the Rat’s got his foot on the ropes. How did he do that? Hawk’s enraged with the referee. He can’t believe the match isn’t over. However before the Rat can regain his vertical base Hawk stomps away at him before dragging him up. Hawk then whips the Rat into the ropes and catches him into a huge powerslam and follows it up with another pinning attempt.

1..2..

Another near fall and again the Rat kicks out, what can Hawk do to finish this match? He’s had enough of this and is leaving the ring. He throws the bell ringer off his chair and takes throws the chair into the ring. The Rat is beginning to stand up as Hawk climbs back into the ring and picks up the chair, but the way Hawk is wielding his weapon he’s going to wish he wasn’t. Hawk swings but the Rat ducks, and dropkicks the chair into Hawk’s face. Hawk could be out cold! The Rat puts the chair onto Hawk’s head and jumps up onto the turnbuckle. The Rat signals to the crowd, could we see the Rathouse onto a chair to Hawk? He jumps…

But he took to long and Hawk rolled out from under the chair leaving the Rat to land hard on the chair. Both men are down and Nick Patrick starts his count.

They both start to stand and begin to exchange punches as they regain their feet. Hawk gains the advantage and attempts an Irish whip into the corner but the Rat reverses it and Hawk goes running into the turnbuckle. The Rat lifts Hawk up onto the turnbuckle and sets him up for a superplex. He tries to throw him but Hawk won’t budge, he tries again but still no luck. Suddenly Hawk lifts him up twists him in the air and jumps off the turnbuckle for the….

HAWK SCREWDRIVER!!!

What a move! He covers the Rat.

1…2…3. Nick Patrick raises Hawk's arm as the winner while EMTs rush to the ring to check on the Rat who is only just beginning to show signs of movement.

After a brutal match it is Hawk who progresses to the next round of the King of the Ring tournament. Congratulations to Afrojoe and commiserations to Allardini who’s wrestler put up a great fight.

Great match, MikeAll. It was even better because I won.

As Grandprix said, it helps if you put some things in capitals, as it sounds more real, but your action was great anyway.

Brill match, as Hawk joins Cabbage Man in the next round of KOTR.

I was gonna say the same sort of thing, a big usage of exclamation marks may sound bad, but works well.

OK

When I was spellchecking the match it kept trying to correct me on people's names but starlight was actually suggested as an alternative to a misspelling of straight.

Very sound otherwise.
