This seems to be an increasing arguement among you busy people recently, this is making your own games, and i just thouight that you have to look very hard for such things, SR sells a programme, I think, I saw a competition in their magazine and assumed they did, bt then "assumption is the mother of all F@#k ups", you need to order the good ones from PC magazines or if you are lucky enough to live in London they have very good Pc stores in the town and you could easily get one there. Anyway I was just thinking to myself, and i wondered why a big console company hasn't already done this? Sony made the 'music' programme and 'music2000' this is along the same lines. maybe the next generation console will make them, so that you can edit them on the console and save to your PC? there is not enough memory on a memory card or cartridge to save a game. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

It would be nice to have more programmes on these new machines, I would like a standard graphics software built into these new machines..so you could edit in game graphics. Or even some music programmes to edit the in game music. Although on the whole this is more the realm of the PC, most console gamers just want games that are easy to get to grips with, and yet still provide hours of entertainment. Making consoles to complicated too quickly would be a mistake, although it would be nice to be able to program on a console..it would only be embraced by the most IT literate of people. In short people like consoles, because its easy to set them up and start playing.

The N64 DD has the closest to game designing! BUT it isn't ever coming out in UK or USA.

On it though you could make your own F-Zero X levels and more but I can't remember what else you could do.
